Frequently asked questions
Where are projects stored?
Projects are stored locally in Ponovo’s private app storage.
Will uninstalling the app delete projects?
It may. Back up important projects with Share Project before uninstalling the app, clearing app data, or changing phones.
Does Ponovo upload my recordings?
No. Recording, noise reduction, mixing, MP3 encoding, and video creation are performed locally on the device.
Why does Ponovo need microphone permission?
Microphone access is required to record loops and Solo Takes. Ponovo records only after you start a recording.
Why does export take time?
Ponovo must render the complete mix and encode the output file. Longer Solo Takes, effects, and noise reduction may increase export time.
How are files named?
User-visible exports use the clean session name, for example Sunset Loop.mp3, Sunset Loop.mp4, or Sunset Loop.ponovo.zip.
What does Noise Reduction do?
Light Noise Reduction conservatively reduces steady room noise. It is not intended to remove speech, television, impacts, or other changing sounds.
